Explosion bonding technology uses high energy from explosive detonation to produce a metallurgical welding joint between metal plates. Expanding detonation products push cladding plate to a base plate at a specific velocity and impact angle. That process produces much bigger stress than the yield strength of metal materials causing plastic deformation that is the necessary condition for making solid phase joint.
