Shanghai Metal Corporation is a leading stranded copper wire supplier and manufacturer.
Most of the copper strands are bare copper strands without insulation layer, and are divided into hard copper strands and soft copper strands according to the shape.
The stranded copper wire composed of thin copper strands is called soft copper stranded wire (TJR). Soft copper strands are easy to bend, have high conductivity and large current carrying capacity, and can be used as electrical connecting wires. They can be used instead of copper busbars.
Hard copper strands are also called ground copper strands and bare copper strands. The raw material adopts high-purity oxygen-free copper rod, which ensures the stability of the copper wire. The continuous performance is excellent. Hard copper wire is produced in strict accordance with national standards. Hard copper stranded wire is used for the electrified railway contact network load-bearing cable, lightning protection grounding horizontal ground network, signal transmitting antenna, etc.
If you want to know more about our stranded copper wire price please feel free to contact us, we will reply you within 24 hours.

By shape:
1. Hard stranded copper wire
2. Soft copper stranded wire
By application:
1. Ground copper stranded wire
2. Electrical cable
Soft copper strand:
1. Has excellent bending resistance
2. Constant stocks, not scattered stocks
3. High conductivity
4. Soft and flexible, can be bent
5. No plating, it belongs to non-insulated wire
Hard copper strand:
1. The monofilament is thick and the tension is strong
2. Compared with soft copper strands, the tensile strength is high
3. Small resistance and good conductivity
1.Military covered wire conductors; ground rods for the power industry; braided shielded wires for power cables; reinforced conductive cores for special cables; overhead lines for power transmission and telephone lines; load-bearing cables and sliding contact lines for electrified railways and rail transit lines.
2. Application areas of hard copper strands and soft copper strands:
Hard copper stranded wire: Hard copper stranded wire has better resistance to tension than a knot, and has a small resistance and good electrical conductivity. It is often used in places where electrical conductivity is required and the tension is relatively high.
Soft copper stranded wire: The most common wire we use is household electrical wires, which are suitable for electrical machinery and used as conductors for power cables and communication equipment.
1. Pitch-diameter ratio requirements:
The pitch diameter ratio of any twisted layer should not be greater than the pitch diameter ratio of the adjacent inner layer.
2. Connector
The strands in the twisted pair can be brazed or welded as a whole, but the distance between any two joints should not be less than 1m, and should not affect the outer diameter and flexibility of the strands.
3. Elongation
The average elongation of the single wire after twisting should be greater than the elongation of the single wire before twisting minus 5 and should be at least greater than 5; The minimum elongation of any single wire after twisting should be greater than the elongation of the single wire before twisting minus 15 and should be at least greater than 5.
