High-strength magnesium tube for special application

Recently, Baosteel central research institute magnesium alloy research and development team for the first time made successful trial manufacture of overlength anti-extrusion high-strength magnesium alloy seamless thin-walled tube.

Compared to ordinary pipe, anti-extrusion high-strength magnesium alloy seamless tube has more excellent mechanical property, substantially increasing fatigue resistance and secondary molding. The product can be used in the aerospace, military industry, automobile and rail transportation systems, as well as high-end outdoor sporting goods and other fields, with broad market demand and prospects.

Successful trial manufacture of the product shows Baosteel research and development capability in magnesium alloy, which will boost Baosteel rapid development of new materials business in the strategy of "from steel to material."
