Martensitic steel 17-7PH may not be suitable for environments containing hydrogen sulfide as it may crack.

17-7PH stainless steel is based on Cr18-Ni8% stainless steel by adding aluminum content to remove oxygen and refine grains in the steel. Precipitation hardening stainless steel not only maintains the excellent weld-ability, cold working form-ability, and corrosion resistance of austenitic stainless steel, but also has higher strength than martensitic stainless steel.
