The manufacturing process of SA387 steel plate mainly includes steel-making, continuous casting, rolling, heat treatment etc. Firstly, using electric furnace or converter to make steel, adjusting the chemical composition of the molten steel by controlling the temperature of the furnace and adding an appropriate amount of alloying elements to obtain the required performance. Secondly, pouring the melted steel into the continuous casting machine, and obtain the required steel plate billet. Thirdly, the steel plate blank is processed through multiple rolling processes to achieve the required thickness and dimensional accuracy. During the rolling process, it is necessary to control parameters such as rolling temperature, rolling speed, and rolling force to obtain good steel plate structure and properties. Last, doing heat treatment for the rolled steel plate to eliminate internal stress, improve structure, and enhance performance.
