Spinal needles are specialized medical instruments used primarily for accessing the subarachnoid space in the spine to administer anesthesia, collect cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), or inject therapeutic agents. The choice of needle, technique, and patient positioning are critical factors that influence the success of the procedure and the minimization of complications.

Dia: Normally 0.25mm for 25G, 0.35mm for 22G.
Trocar Length: Normally 96.5mm for 25G, 118.5mm for 22G.

Types of needle tip:
Quincke: Sharp, beveled tip that cuts through tissues. Used for procedures requiring quick insertion.
Whitacre: Pencil-point tip with a lateral opening, designed to minimize tissue damage and reduce PDPH risk.
Sprotte: Pencil-point design with a lateral eye for smoother CSF flow, reducing PDPH risk.
Greene: Rounded, non-cutting tip aimed at reducing trauma to tissues.
Needle body treatment: sand blasting, marking, notching etc.
