AVF needles, also known as fistula needles or dialysis needles, are used to withdraw blood from the patient’s bloodstream, pass it through a dialysis machine for filtration, and then return the filtered blood back to the patient. These needles are designed to access an arteriovenous fistula, which is a surgically created connection between an artery and a vein, providing a reliable and durable access point for dialysis. AVF needles are critical components of the hemodialysis process, enabling efficient and safe access to the vascular system. They come in various types and sizes to accommodate different patient needs and clinical situations. Proper selection, insertion technique, and adherence to safety protocols are essential to ensure the effectiveness of dialysis and to minimize complications.
