A: The primary difference lies in the carbon content. Nickel 200 has a maximum carbon content of 0.15%, while Nickel 201 has a maximum of 0.02%. This low carbon content prevents Nickel 201 from becoming brittle at temperatures above 315°C (600°F). Therefore, Ni201 is preferred for applications operating at higher temperatures.

A: Yes, pure nickel plates have excellent weldability. They can be joined using conventional welding processes such as Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG), and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW). Matching filler metals, such as ERNi-1, are typically recommended to maintain the corrosion resistance of the weld joint.
